Dale Ruppert
Dale Ruppert, 74, died Saturday (March 23, 2002) at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha.
He was born Dec. 1, 1927, to Jay and Doris (Meissner) Ruppert at Quick. He grew up and attended school in Frontier County.
On April 2, 1946, he entered the U.S. Army and served until he was honorably discharged in 1947. He was a member of the legendary Quick Baseball team during the late forties and early fifties.
On May 27, 1952, he married Donna Swanson at Garden Prairie. They made their home on a farm north of McCook.
He was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in McCook.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Daryl; two brothers-in-law, Cecil Rowley and Gary Trosper; and mother and father-in-law, Fred and Ruth Swanson. Survivors include his wife, Donna of McCook; two sons, Duane Ruppert and Dave and wife, Darla Ruppert of McCook; three brothers, John and wife, Lola Ruppert, Homer and wife, Naomi Ruppert and Robert and wife, Jean Ruppert of McCook; three sisters, Helen and husband, Ferris Magee of McCook, Mary and husband, Marlin Zimbelman of Goodland, Kan., and Ann Rowley of Wauneta; and one grandchild.
Services will be Thursday, 2 p.m., at the Evangelical Free Church with the Rev. Bruce Lester officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation is today until 8 p.m. and Wednesday 9 a.m. to noon.
Memorials may be given in his name.
