Alice Marie Smith

GRAND ISLAND -- Alice Marie Smith, 60, of Grand Island, died Saturday (March 30, 2002) at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island after a long battle with cancer.

She was born on June 19, 1941, at home in Arapahoe to Ivan and Goldie (Edmonds) Randolph. She was a 1958 graduate of Culbertson High School.

On June 18, 1989, she married Samuel Smith in Las Vegas, Nev. Survivors include her husband, Samuel Smith of Grand Island; her mother, Goldie Randolph; two daughters, Tamrah Ortiz-Hayden and husband, Joe Hayden, Traci Hiatt-Slater and companion, John Ready, and one son, Trever Hiatt and wife, Karen; four step-children, Scott and wife, Cheryl Smith, Brenda and husband, Rod Simmons, Lori Parde and fiance, Bill Marks , and Shelly and husband, Mike Tietze; three brothers, Glenn, Larry and wife, and Nancy, Lynn and wife, Rhonda; two sisters, Linda Randolph and Lillian and husband, Gene Blackman; eighteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday, 1 p.m., at the Carpenter Funeral Home in Indianola with the Rev. Shari Ludel officiating. Burial will be at the Indianola Cemetery.

Visitation will be today at Kleine Funeral Home in Grand Island, from 3 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, from 9 a.m. until service time at Carpenter Funeral Home.
