Helen Haussler

ARAPAHOE -- Helen Haussler, 87, died Tuesday (Aug. 6, 2002) at Holdrege Memorial Homes in Holdrege.

She was born June 14, 1915, to Dietrick W. and Sophie C. (Huxoll) Stover in Furnas County. She was raised in Furnas and Gosper counties and attended country school.

On June 28, 1939, she married Martin "Mac" Haussler at St. Matthew Lutheran Church of rural Arapahoe. They farmed northwest of Arapahoe until moving into Arapahoe in 1983. In Nov. 2000, she moved to Assisted Living in Holdrege.

She was a member of the St. Matthew Lutheran Church; Trinity Lutheran Church; and Trinity Women's League.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband. Survivors include one daughter, Linda and husband, Paul Blauvelt of Holdrege; one sister, Marg Hornaday of Oxford; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be Saturday, 10 a.m., at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe with the Rev. George Naylor officiating. Interment will be in the St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery of rural Arapahoe.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Memorials may be given in her name.
