Robert 'Bob' Burke

CAMBRIDGE -- Robert "Bob" Burke, 52, died Tuesday (Aug. 27, 2002) in Frontier County.

He was born Nov. 4, 1949, to Charles and Rachel (Meyers) Burke in McCook. He grew up on the farm north of Cambridge. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1968.

On Jan. 19, 1969, he married Rheta Langley in Cambridge. The couple remained on the farm.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles; two brothers, Chuck and Rod; and one sister, Audrey Peden.

Survivors include his wife, Rheta; one daughter, Cheryl and husband, Randy Phillips of Curtis; three sons, Richard and wife, Dawn, Ryan and wife, Marisa and Randy all of Cambridge; his mother, Rachel of Cambridge; one sister, Nancy and husband, Dwaine Aden of Gothenburg; one brother, Larry and wife, Joan of Elwood; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, 2 p.m., at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Cambridge with the Rev. Art Phillips officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Cambridge.

Memorials may be left in his name at the mortuary.
