Ronald Ray Carlson
OBERLIN -- Ronald Ray Carlson, 59, died Thursday (Sept. 12, 2002) at Hays Regional Medical Center in Hays, Kan.
He was born June 24, 1943, to Raymond and Esther (Olson) Carlson in Oberlin. He was attended Oberlin Elementary School and graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1961. Following graduation, he moved to McPherson, Kan., and later to Salina, Kan., before moving back to Oberlin. He worked as a meat cutter.
He was a member of the Oberlin Covenant Church and Oberlin Lions Club.
He was preceded in death by his father; and one son, Timothy Allen.
Survivors include one son, Todd Carlson and wife, Kimberly of Galva, Kan.; two daughters, Angela and husband, Jack Hagmeier of Derby, Kan., and Rebecca and husband, Garret Winn of Salina; his mother, Esther Carlson of Oberlin; one sister, Joyce and husband, Bob Hartzog of Oberlin; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were today, 11 a.m., at the Oberlin Covenant Church with the Rev. Heidi M. Wiebe officiating. Interment was at the Oberlin Cemetery.
Memorials may be given in his name to the Oberlin Covenant Church or the Oberlin Lions Club.
