Harrell L. Shannon

ATWOOD -- Harrell L. Shannon, 66, died Thursday (Dec. 26, 2002) in Atwood following a long battle with renal disease.

He was born Oct. 18, 1936, to Bernard Shannon and Alice (Ginther) Shannon Shankle in Atwood. He graduated from Atwood Community High School in 1955. He engaged in farming for numerous years and also operated an auto body shop in Atwood.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 2415 of Hoxie, Kan. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his companion, Chris Stolte of Atwood; one son, Earl Lynn Shannon; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Sunday, 2 p.m., at the Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church in Atwood with the Rev. Don White officiating. A private inurnment will take place at a later date.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be given in his name to the Ministerial Alliance Food Bank in Atwood or to the charity of the donor's choice.
