Dorothy F. Lunkwitz

Dorothy F. Lunkwitz, 92, died Monday (Dec. 30, 2002) at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.

She was born July 27, 1910, at Basehor, Kan., to Thomas Elmer and Mary Ella (Morach) Tirrill.

On April 12, 1936, she married John E. Lunkwitz at the West Side Congregational Church in McCook. She took care of foster children at different times. She was a seamstress. They sold their farm southwest of McCook and moved to town in 1963.

She was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, John, on Oct. 26, 1994.

Survivors include a brother, Lester Tirrill and wife Laverne of McCook; three sisters, Iva McNutt, Maudie Oberg and Elizabeth Edwards all of McCook; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday, 11 a.m., at the Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Thurman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook.

Visitation will be today until 8 p.m. Memorials may be given in her name.
