Alan L. Harms
CULBERTSON -- Alan L. Harms, 44, died Tuesday (Jan. 21, 2003) as the result of an auto accident in Frontier County near Maywood.
He was born Sept. 16, 1958, in Gothenburg to Marvin and Betty (Aden) Harms. He grew up at Gothenburg where he attended Gothenburg High School until his junior year. The family moved to Culbertson where he graduated from Culbertson High School in 1976. He attended Mid-Plains Community College at North Platte.
On Oct. 14, 1978, he married Sandra Neuenschwander at Culbertson. They have spent their married lives at Culbertson where he owned and operated Alan Harms Carpentry.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Culbertson and was a president and member of Aid Association for Lutherans.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra of Culbertson; daughter, Aimee Harms and son, Drew Harms of the home; his parents, Marvin and Betty Harms of Culbertson; three sisters, Shari and husband, Jim Lewis of Culbertson, Susi and husband, Burke Curl and Peggy and husband, Wayne Needham of McCook; and his grandmother, Evelyn Aden of Gothenburg.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church in Culbertson with the Rev. Bryan Hopfensperger and the Rev. Dean Hanson officiating. Interment will be in the Culbertson Cemetery at Culbertson.
Memorials may be given in his name and friends may call at the funeral home.
