Irene Marie Corcoran
OBERLIN -- Irene Marie Corcoran, 77, died Tuesday (April 1, 2003) at the Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin.
She was born Sept. 17, 1925, in Hays, Kan., to George and Adeline (Bufort) Keisner. She was raised in Hays, Lexington and Norton, Kan., before moving to Oberlin in 1935. She graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1943.
On June 5, 1947, she married Joe Corcoran at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oberlin. They owned Corcoran Furniture in Oberlin.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Oberlin. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, George Keisner, Jr., and Robert "Bob" Keisner.
Survivors include a son, Mark Corcoran and wife, Paula of Oberlin; a daughter, Cheryl and husband, Craig Lamp of Garland, Texas; a sister, Florence Peterson of Garden City, Kan.; and four grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oberlin with the Rev. Mathew Vazhappily officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
A parish vigil service will be Monday, 7:30 p.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be given in her name.
