Paul Robert Bartels

AURORA, Colo. -- Paul Robert Bartels, 44, died March 31, 2003, in Aurora, Colo.

He was born Nov. 15, 1958, to Robert and Marilyn Bartels. He grew up in Imperial and graduated from Chase County High School in 1977. He attended the University of Nebraska. He also graduated from aviation mechanic school.

On April 13, 1980, he married Jill Sughroue. Over the years he had worked at Red Willow Aviation in McCook and also at Centennial Airport in Colorado.

Survivors include his children, Audra, Annie, Emily and Evan; his parents, Robert and Marilyn Bartels of Imperial; and sister, Joni and husband, Ed Kaiser of Imperial.

Funeral services were Saturday, 11 a.m., (MST), at the Zion Lutheran Church in Imperial with the Rev. Robert Frank officiating. Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery at Imperial.

A memorial has been established in his memory.
