Duane Kenneth Meyers
Duane Kenneth Meyers, 75, died Thursday (April 17, 2003) at Willow Ridge Retirement Home in McCook.
He was born Oct. 28, 1927, at North Loup, to Harry William and Grace Mae (Wilkie) Meyers. He graduated from North Loup High School in 1947 and later from Milford Trade School with a degree in small engine repair.
On Feb.14, 1951, he married Laura Louise Deeds in Grand Island. They moved to the McCook Community in 1953, where he was employed as a dispatcher for 32 years for the Nebraska State Patrol until his retirement on May 9, 1986.
He was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church and McCook Eagles.
Preceding him in death were his parents, William and Grace Meyers; his wife, Laura on Nov. 21, 1998; one son, Gene Meyers; and one brother, Mervin Meyers.
His survivors include his daughter, Dianna Lee and husband, Tom Kauk of McCook; three sons, Edward Meyers of Norton, Kan., Allen Meyers and wife, Jamie of Soldotna, Alaska, and Kenneth Meyers and wife, Becky of McCook; one sister, Corrine Beck of Grand Island; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Graveside inurnment will be Monday, April 21, 2003, 10:30 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating.
Memorials may be given in his name.
