Grandson not involved
Dear Editor;
I'm writing this in hopes it will help to clarify an article in the Gazette and help save my grandson's reputation.
On Saturday, Jan. 12, the court report listed the name, age and address of a young man who was accused of Third Degree Sexual Assault.
He just happened to have the same first and last name as my grandson.
The middle initial was different, the age off one year and the address is different -- but who in McCook knows this? Such a damaging coincidence.
Since then I've received calls from people who can't believe its my grandson (which it isn't). He hasn't always done the right things, but this is a serious burden to bear when you are innocent.
Perhaps the court should publish the middle names in full. I just hope this never happens to anyone else. I'm very upset over this matter.
