Splendid articles

Friday, March 1, 2002

I wish to compliment Linda Hein on her splendid articles she writes for the Gazette.

It takes a lot of research to write of so much history of McCook and of people and events. I was very pleased to see Dr. Earl Leininger being remembered.

I had the not-to-be-forgotten privilege of specializing many medical surgical cases for Dr. Leininger. He was truly a professional and ethical doctor in every respect.

Doctors in that era did not have MRIs, CT scanning or complex lab equipment tests to make a diagnosis, but they were nearly always right in their diagnosis. McCook had another doctor who was in the service, Dr. Donal Morgan Sr., who was truly a professional and dedicated doctor, among some others.

It would be nice to see Dr. Morgan's picture in his uniform also. Most of these doctors of that era are gone and I think this verse in part: Matt. 25: 23, should be dedicated to these servants of God: "Well done, thy good and faithful servant, enter thou into the Joy of the Lord."
