Melinda Byrkit and Jon Richards announce their engagement and upcoming wedding. Parents of the couple are Robert and Jaclyn Byrkit of Nelson, and Thomas and Letty Richards of McCook. The bride-to-be is a 1999 graduate of Nelson High School and a 2000 graduate of Lincoln School of Commerce. She is employed by Cedar Youth Services of Lincoln. The prospective bridegroom is a 1999 graduate of Hershey High School and is pursuing a degree in systems engineering and is a P.C. technician. The couple is planning a Sept. 22 wedding at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Lincoln.
