JEFFERSON, Iowa -- Laurel Diane Goin, formerly of McCook, and Charles Scott Cagle of Neosho, Mo., were united in marriage on Sept. 8, 2001, at the First Presbyterian Church at Jefferson. The Rev. Jerry Sawyer officiated the double ring ceremony.

Parents of the couple are David and Lois Goin of Jefferson and Warren and Betty Cagle of Neosho.

The matron of honor for the ceremony was Sharolyn Balsley of Nashville, Tenn., sister of the bride. The bridesmatron was Sonja Pearson of Grand Island.

The best man for the ceremony was Troy Clapp of Joplin, Mo. The bridegroomsman was Paul Nichols of Neosho.

Ushering the guests were Michael Balsley of Nashville, brother-in-law of the bride, and Shawn Gallagher of Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Musical accompaniment was provided by organist Sheryl Sloan of Jefferson, and flutist Lois Goin of Jefferson, mother of the bride. The soloist was Nicole Friess Schilling of Jefferson.

The guest book attendant was Diane Gibson of Jefferson. A reception at the church followed the ceremony.

The bride is a 1986 Jefferson Community High School graduate. She earned her bachelor of arts degree in Spanish and mass communications from Buena Vista University in 1990. She also earned a bachelor of arts degree in library media from Chadron State College in 1994.

The bridegroom is a 1986 graduate of Neosho High School. He received his certification of welding from Tulsa Welding School in 1989. He is employed by Milnot Company in Seneca, Mo.

The couple is making their home in Joplin.
