Cambridge man new building inspector
Doyle A. Wineland of Cambridge has been hired as McCook's new building inspector/code compliance officer to fill the position left open with the resignation of Dob Neuhaus.
Wineland will receive an annual salary of $30,000 a year and will report to work Aug. 22.
"I am really looking forward to working for McCook and hope I can accomplish the things expected of me," Wineland said. City Manager John Bingham said, "We are fortunate to have someone with his experience, who can become certified as a building, plumbing, mechanical and electrical inspector in a relatively short period of time."
Wineland studied civil engineering at Casper College in Wyoming and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He also studied business at Bellvue University.
His background includes a wide variety of experiences in the design and construction of housing and industrial subdivisions. For eighteen years he had his own engineering consulting business where he designed, supervised and inspected subdivision construction projects. At the time of his retirement as an engineer he was registered or licensed as the civil engineer or land surveyor in 42 states.
In 1998 Wineland and his wife, Mary retired and returned to the Cambridge area. They own Windmill farms, a portion of which has been in Mary's family for 104 years. They have one son, Calvin, who is a career military officer stationed in Washington D.C. and a daughter, Tasha, who lives in the Denver area. Doyle and Mary have five grandchildren.
