Two men file for City Council election
Tuesday, September 10, 2002
Two men have thrown their hats into the ring for the two-year term on the McCook City Council left open following the resignation of Councilman Chris Overman.
Dan Sigwing and Ben Gonzales will be on the ballot for the November 4 general election.
Those interested in filing for the position must do so by 4 p.m., Friday.
The City Council must appoint someone to fill out Overman's term until the person who wins the Nov. 4 election can be sworn in. Brenda McMurtrey, whose name already will appear on the ballot seeking a four-year council term, has announced her desire to fill Overman's vacant position until the election.
