Four Bison picked for 26th Western All-Star football games
SCOTTSBLUFF -- McCook will be well represented at the 26th annual Western Nebraska All-Star Football Game, with four players from the Class B championship team.
McCook players include Rocky Esteraich, Luke Olson, Nathan Reicks and Spencer Walter,
Republican Valley will have three representatives on the East squad with Buck Haag, Blake Shuler and Chad Stewart selected to the West team.
Also area players chosen for the East squad were Culbertson's Ben Eisenhart, Michael Jones of Medicine Valley, Kole Kugler of Eustis-Farnam, Phil Macke of Cambridge and Toby Webb of Twin Valley.
Area members of the West squad are Brian Strand and John Strand, both of Chase County; and Nate Stroup of Dundy County.
The East team will be led by Les Roggenkamp of Republican Valley High School. His assistant coaches will be Mark Norvell of Twin Valley High School, Jerrod Burke of Medicine Valley High School and Brent Aufdenkamp from North Platte St. Pat's.
The West will be led by Terry Gilliland of Mitchell High School. He will be assisted by Wes Gamble of Sidney High School, Mike Mitchell of Potter-Dix High School and Jason Spady of Garden County.
The 2003 West Nebraska All-Star football game will be Saturday, June 7 at Bearcat Stadium in Scottsbluff with kick-off at 7 p.m. MDT.
