G. Loaraine Schleicher

HOLDREGE -- G. Loaraine Schleicher, 88, formerly of Wilsonville, died Friday (August 9, 2003) at Bryan East Hospital, Lincoln.

She was born April 7, 1915, at Hendley to Ray and Grace (Loar) Little. She was baptized at the First Christian Church of Beaver City and later transferred her membership to the Christian Church of Wilsonville. She grew up in the Hendley and Beaver City area. She graduated from Beaver City High School in 1933. On May 20, 1933 she married Charles Ivan Schleicher at Norton, Kan. The couple lived in the Beaver City and Hendley area for a number of years before making their home in Wilsonville in 1948. She worked as a cook at Wilsonville Public Schools. She remained in Wilsonville until 1999, when she moved to Holdrege.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles Ivan on Sept. 15, 1976, her step-mother, Myrtle Little and an infant sister.

Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Penrod of Holdrege, Karol and husband, Don Shafer of Oxford and Ivalyn and husband, Paul Pierce of Pierce, Colo; nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at Baptist-Christian Church in Wilsonville with Keith Theobald officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Beaver City.

Visitation will be today until 8 p.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City and prior to services at the church.
