Laura Uehling

Laura Uehling, 86, died Wednesday (Aug. 27, 2003) at her home in Grant.

She was born Nov. 18, 1916, to Emil and Mattie (Nigh) Pankonin in Grant. She attended rural school and later graduated from Perkins County High School in 1934.

On Oct. 25, 1936, she married Eddie Uehling. The couple moved into Grant in 1946, where they lived for the rest of their life. In 1993, her husband died.

Survivors include three daughters, Claudetta and husband, Herbert Peck of McCook, Mary Lewis of McCook, and Bonnie and husband, Mike Johnston of Casper, Wyo.; two sons, Robert and wife, Glee and Dean and wife, Carol, all of Grant; and one sister, Edith and husband, Reinhold Gloy of Wauneta.

Services are Friday, 1:30 p.m., at the Grant Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Ron Krause officiating. Interment will be in Grant Cemetery.

Bullock-Long Funeral Home of Grant is in charge of arrangements.
