Paula Gay (Meader) Walz
INDIANOLA -- Paula Gay (Meader) Walz, 51, died Wednesday (Aug. 27, 2003) at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
She was born Oct. 7, 1951, in St. Catherine's Hospital in McCook, to Paul and Esther (Ruf) Meader. She attended school in Wilsonville and graduated from Wilsonville High School in 1971.
On Oct. 24, 1975, she married Bernard Walz in St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola.
She was a member of the Christian Church in Wilsonville and then became a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola where she was an active organist for many years.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her parents; one sister, Gwendolyn Marie; father-in-law, John Walz; and brother-in-law, Jerry Sayer.
Survivors include her husband, Bernard Walz of Indianola; daughter, Brenda Walz of Grand Island; son, Brian Walz of Indianola; five sisters, Carolyn and husband, Gary Potter of Elwood, Cheryl Sayer of Cambridge, Angie and husband, Donnie Sughroue of Bartley, Luella and husband, John P. Trumble of Cambridge and Sally and husband, Mike Daffer of Danbury; one brother, Owen Meader of Wilsonvillle; mother-in-law, Mary Walz of Indianola; and five sisters-in-law, Sister Cecilia Walz of Waverly, Alice and husband, Dude Tines of Venango, Millie and husband, Mike Cuellar of Indianola, Gin and husband, Ben Bortner of McCook and Agnes and husband, Ed Richard of Indianola.
Mass of Christian Burial is Saturday, 10 a.m., at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola with the Rev. Nicholas Baker officiating. Burial will be at St. Catherine's Cemetery in Indianola.
The rosary will be Friday, 8 p.m. at Carpenter Funeral Home in Indianola.
Friends may sign the book at the funeral home. The casket will remain closed.
