Proud to have served

Dear Editor,

To McCook Gazette and Southwest Nebraska Community: I enjoyed hearing of the McCook Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad's contributions to the communities they are all part of and are obviously very proud of being a part of. The many Fire/EMS organizations that volunteer throughout the Southwest Nebraska area have always been very impressive to me. From the folks and their families who volunteer their efforts and hours from Haigler / Benkleman / Imperial area to the Arapahoe / Cambridge area and from the Hays Center / Maywood / Curtis area to the Danbury / Lebanon area and all in between have all been for many years some of the most giving and genuinely caring folks you would ever want to meet. Some of which have also moved on to professional careers in Fire and Rescue work as with most if not all the current McCook Fire Department personnel. To all of them I would like to say great job. And a special great job to MVF&R Inc. for your caring efforts over the many years. I am very proud and privileged to have served with you all.
