Vanessa Ward and Scott Sherman of Peru announce their engagement and upcoming wedding. Parents of the couple are Bill and Nancy Ward of Palisade, Bruce and Terrie Sherman of Peru and Rick and Nancy Core of Thurman, Iowa. Grandparents of the couple are Elaine Peterson of Palisade, JoAnn and Harley Ward of Palisade and Evelyn Lotter of Peru. The bride-to-be is a graduate of Wauneta-Palisade High School and is attending Peru State College and plans to graduate in December with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and psychology and sociology. She is employed at Arbor Manor in Auburn. The prospective bridegroom is a graduate of Auburn High School and is employed at TriPac-Armstrong Cabinets in Auburn. The couple is planning a June 21, 2003, ceremony at the Community Church in Peru.
