Pickup truck stolen, burned

Friday, July 18, 2003

McCook police are investigating the theft and destruction of a small pickup truck sometime between 3:15 a.m. and 4:09 a.m., Thursday from the 100 block of West C.

Investigator Bill Hoyt said the pickup apparently was driven recklessly, and, at 4:09 a.m., Red Willow Western rural firefighters were dispatched to an intersection north of McCook on West Third, where the pickup burned.

Hoyt said a state fire marshal determined the fire was not an intentional arson. Police have several leads in the investigation of the theft, Hoyt said, but anyone with any more information is encouraged to call the police at (308) 345-3450.
