The McCook Community College women’s basketball team opened up the Region IX tournament at home Friday with a 48-43 win over Lamar Community College. “This time of year, you’re going to get everybody’s best basketball,” said MCC Coach Brandon Pritchett. “I’m proud of this team. The goal is to win by any means necessary and we gutted it out.”...

STERLING, Colo. – The sixth-seeded McCook Community College men upset third-seeded Northeastern Junior College on the road to open Region IX tournament play Saturday. MCC won 78-76 in a play-in game. “This was a great game for us and our guys,” said MCC Coach Jacob Brandl. “I’m so proud of our attention to detail today and our fight. Because of weather and field conditions, the McCook Community College softball games scheduled for Sunday in Sterling, Colo. were postponed. MCC and Northeastern Junior College will play two games Monday at the Jaycees Sports Complex in McCook starting at 1 p.m...
