Former McCook man sentenced for failing to register as a sex offender

OMAHA, Neb. -- U.S. Attorney Joe Kelly announced that Matthew Williams, 31, formerly of McCook, Neb., was sentenced today to 70 months in prison by Chief United States District Judge John M. Gerrard for failing to register under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA). After serving his prison term, Williams will be required to serve 25 years of supervised release and continue to register as a sex offender. There is no parole in the federal system...
