Drive-up mobile pantry set for Palisade Saturday

PALISADE, Neb. – Food Bank for the Heartland plans a free drive-up mobile pantry at Centennial Park in Palisade from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday. EUSTIS, Neb. -- A source of Southwest Nebraska pride was dimmed Wednesday with the announcement that the Village PieMaker facility in Eustis would be closed and production moved to Omaha. Joe Ricketts, founder of the Ameritrade brokerage firm and father of Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts, said Eustis employees will be offered jobs in Omaha, and steps are being taken to “ease the burden on those employees who choose not to accept employment in Omaha,” Ricketts said in his blog...
