The process whereby a city expands its boundaries to include a specific geographic area. Just the thought of it strikes fear into the hearts of many who reside outside the city limits of McCook. Justifiably they fear the big jump in real estate taxes, the City levy, which is sure to come their way. At least that was the sentiment expressed to me during my term serving on City Council when Bingham put together a plan to annex our neighbors...
