Nelson Hometown Scholarship recipients

McCOOK, Neb. --Three local students have been awarded the 2015 Nelson Hometown Scholarship, which is $1,500 awarded annually. John Paul Kain, Erica Wood and Logan Kircher, all 2015 graduates of McCook High School, received the scholarship. John Paul plan to attend Nebraska College of Agriculture-Curtis, while Erica and Logan will both attend the University of Nebraska at Kearney this fall...

MHS science rooms getting makeover

McCOOK, Neb. -- School districts do not have to advertise for bids for construction jobs unless the project is $100,000 or over. A new state law, passed this legislative session, allows school districts to advertise for bids on construction/improvement projects only on projects of $100,000 or more, Superitendant Grant Norgaard told the McCook Board of Education Monday at the regular meeting.
