McCOOK, Neb. -- An ex-school board member expressed his concerns that high property valuations in the district will hurt the McCook School District in coming years and a current board member agreed. Larry Shields, who resigned from the school board last year, spoke at the public hearing for the 2014 budget Monday night at the McCook School Board meeting and said because of the high valuations this year and last year, particularly on agricultural land, state aid will be reduced for the district by $207,000. ...
