McCOOK, Nebraska -- Rotary District 5630 honored a McCook-area farmer-rancher for years of generous and far-reaching support of his town and county.

McCOOK, Neb. -- It it ain't broke, don't fix it. That's the attitude Red Willow County, Nebraska, commissioners took Monday morning when they discussed internet service for the new county jail and law enforcement center that will open this summer.

To help protect Red Willow County residents and give them a chance to prepare themselves for the worst summer weather, the sheriff's department is offering on its website a link to tornado preparedness guidelines and a tornado alert system available for smart phones from the American Red Cross.

CULBERTSON, Neb. -- Patrons of the Culbertson Rural Fire Protection District will decide at the polls Tuesday whether to approve a property tax that will raise $25,000 each year for the next five years to maintain, upgrade and purchase fire-fighting equipment.
