Movie Review - The Seeker: The Dark is Rising Rated PG and starring Alexander Ludwig and Christopher Eccleston. Running Time: 1 hr. 39 mins. The Seeker is a kids movie. There is not much here for the adult crowd. Other than that, The Seeker is a well made film that should appeal to a wide majority of young ones who have embraced some of the other fantasy movies that have come out. ...

It appears that I have upset a local BDS sufferer.  It was fun reading his latest rant in open forum.  I could just image him shaking his tiny fists in an impotent rage at forces that seem beyond his control. Hopefully this dialogue will help normal people better understand people with BDS.  I always enjoy when they bring up the Bush approval rating.  This makes their argument legit, because in their universe they claim a 100 percent minus approval rating agrees with their viewpoint no matter what the subject is.. ...

The mural mystery has been solved! The large German Heritage Days' murals, discovered during preparations for the 2007 celebration, were painted by Ethel Weigel, a McCook artist of note during the mid-part of the 20th century. We were informed of this last Thursday, immediately after a color photograph of one of the murals appeared on the front page of the Gazette. Several readers called to tell me Ethel did the painting...
