PALISADE -- Elburn "Pete" Clyde Rice of Palisade died Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at McCook Community Hospital. He was 79 years old. Pete was born February 12, 1927 to Floyd and Gladys (Cole) Rice at Palisade. He graduated from Palisade High School in 1945 and Doane College in 1950. He played football and baseball while attending Doane and also for the McCook Cats. On March 20, 1945 he entered the US Navy.
