Injured Marine hopes to hit the road again (Features ~ 04/22/05)
The tall -- very tall -- lanky young man now walks with a limp, and a angry reddish-pink scar slashes its way up the calf of his left leg. But Jesse Jordan's bashful smile and deep chuckle still come easy. He's ditched the wheelchair and the crutches -- he's really walking very well, considering, and he's hoping that some day he'll run again. ... -

Disappointed
(Letter to the Editor ~ 04/22/05)
**Dear Editor, I was deeply disappointed and saddened to read "Time to travel back in time" by Dawn Cribbs. The information given both slandered and misconstrued Catholic beliefs. I am proud to claim the title of "cradle Catholic." I was born a Catholic, have grown away from and then back into the faith, and with God's grace I will die a Catholic. ...

From the Front -- In conclusion
(Column ~ 04/22/05)
I'm home. This will necessarily be my last column. My thanks again to all loved ones who kept us in their prayers. I'm reveling in the luxuries of our great country--simple luxuries I had often taken for granted -- hot showers, cold drinks, soft carpet, clean water, continuous electricity, the freedom of driving and listening to the radio. Today I was stopped on my walk by the scent of cherry blossoms and the lush grass. And all women are beautiful...

Shot through the heart, and other stuff
(Column ~ 04/22/05)
I think our legal system is pretty screwed up. We have a lot of laws prohibiting a lot of behaviors that shouldn't be prohibited, at least legally. Especially behaviors in the victimless crimes area like prostitution, gambling, pornography, drug use, cig-arette smoking, etc. The people morally opposed to any or all of these behaviors aren't doing them anyway and the people who are doing any of them are doing so freely and willfully, often eagerly...
