It's time to take responsibility for McCook's future
(Editorial ~ 04/30/04)
It's time to take responsibility for the future. It's time to show support for our kids. It's time to approve the elementary school bond issue. We say this even though we know there's a lot of negative talk in the community. Many are frustrated, as we are, by the town's problems. But, despite that, it's time to turn the tide ... it's time to make a difference ... it's time to step up and vote yes on the $5.8 million elementary school bond issue...

What would be that dream job? An ad recently piqued my interest, even though it would require leaving my family, my home, my country since it would be for the royal family...

That's right, 500. What makes the number so amazing is that the World War II veterans are now in their late 70s, 80s and 90s. McCook in trouble
(Opinion ~ 04/30/04)
I enjoy the editorial page in the paper each day even though I don't always agree with every thing on it. I know that is the idea of that page, to give all of the readers something to think about. That is one of the reasons I felt the "Speak Out" letters was a good idea. Of course I know some of them got carried away but it was a way for some of us to express our ideas and not let everyone know who we are...

In fact, there were unsubstantiated rumblings before his last campaign that he might switch parties and run for U.S. Senator as a Republican. Obviously, that didn't happen. To be honest, I sort of leaned towards the belief that he was a Republican in Democratic clothes as well. So, I decided to check out his voting record on Capitol Hill...
