Jeremy C. Jorgensen has been named as the new McCook Community College Baseball Coach. According to Dr. Richard Tubbs, vice president of McCook Community College, Jorgensen accepted the position late Monday afternoon. According to materials submitted in his application, this past spring was Jorgensen's 11th season as a baseball coach, including four seasons as a head coach at the collegiate and high school levels...

Dear Editor, The 8 percent figure is wrong ("Commissioners approve loan for new ethanol plant," Tuesday). I must have said what I read instead of doing the math. It needs a decimal point in front of it. The $300,000 is, according to the calculator, .857 percent of $35 million and still a lot money to a country boy...

The Mid-Plains-North Platte Knights paid a visit to McCook Tuesday and swept the Lady Indians 30-19, 30-14, 30-18 in volleyball action.
