Shop accident sends Wauneta man to hospital

Red Cross announces critical need for blood

According to the American Red Cross, the blood supply for West and Southwest Nebraska is at critical low and the Red Cross is struggling to maintain adequate blood reserves. Some blood types have been reduced to as little as a 12-hour supply. The Red Cross needs to have a 3 to 5-day supply in order to assure that blood is available when needed. All blood types are needed, but Type O and Type A are most critical at this time...

The Atwood drive-in theater screen, just after wheat harvest 2002. Savage winds July 3 tore down the 50-year-old drive-in theater screen west of Atwood. The Rawlins County Square Deal reports the screen and its iron framework toppled in winds that gusted to 75 miles an hour. The theater's first movie was "Robin Hood," shown Aug. 20, 1953. The theater hasn't been used in many years, and the parking area is now farmed by Don Argabright...
