The current 1 percent city sales tax will expire soon, unless it's extended for five years by McCook residents only, next Tuesday, May 6. At the last election McCook voters decided it was time for all trade area residents and visitors to help pay for McCook city streets, ball parks, improvements, pool improvements, library and senior center expansion and not have the burden on just city home owners...

Drivers will keep '48' county plates
