With the first weekend of pheasant season approaching in Nebraska, hunters and other residents are being asked to stay alert for possible signs of terrorist attacks against transportation. Gov. Mike Johanns asked Nebraskans to report any unusual activity they see around the state's transportation systems after the FBI issued a nationwide warning of a possible terrorist attack against transportation "We need to take these intelligence warnings seriously," Johanns said in a release Thursday. ...

Dear Editor, After reading Mary Ginapp's letter to the editor in the October 23 Gazette, I realized that if someone that has worked for our college system for over 31 years doesn't understand what the McCook community and alumni have been trying to point out for the past several years, then there's no doubt that more people see us (the campus and the community) as simply complaining about the name "again".... They don't see the big picture...
