PALISADE -- Bernes "Bernie" J. Schutte, 69, died Wednesday (March 20, 2002) while on duty as a fireman at a fire near Hamlet. He was born Oct. 8, 1932, to Clyde T. and Dorothy K. (Bolte) Schutte at Lawrence. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean conflict from 1953-1955. He completed his education while in the army. He lived and worked in Palisade since 1955...
