DNA and Sarcasm
Recently the opportunity presented itself to have my DNA tested to trace parental heritage. I went with the paternal side. The swab kit arrived. I sent in the swabs. Then I waited and waited and waited.
Finally, the results were available. There weren't any great surprises at all. The percentages played out like I figured. Seventy-six percent was British Isles (English/Irish), twenty-one percent was central European and the remainder was three percent " other."
Since the major percentages were not a surprise and were more of a confirmation of previous established facts, I had to wonder about the three percent "other."
While I had wondered about it and posted it on my Facebook page, the best response was from my cousin. She thought the three percent was sarcasm. I don't believe I need to say anything more.
