Walden in Malibu
I will admit I was one of the viewers of the season premiere of "Two and A Half Men" on CBS on Monday evening. I have watched the show for quite awhile and was more than disappointed when last season was cut short by the train wreck surrounding Charlie Sheen's departure from the show.
Now, admittedly, the funeral scene was pretty funny. It wasn't Chuckles the Clown funeral scene funny (from the Mary Tyler Moore Show) but it was true to form for this show.
The scenes when the potential house buyers showed up cracked me up the most. John Stamos, Thomas Gibson and Jenna Elfman were surprises and a rather fun way to continuing transitioning the story line.
The scene scattering Charlie's ashes as an intro to Walden Schmidt (Ashton Kutcher) appearing on the Harper's Malibu beach house deck, was classic comedy. However it was pretty cutting because Alan then cleaned up the mess with the Dust Buster.
Can't help but wonder if there was a bit of satisfaction for the writers and cast to work through that scene. I am probably reading more into it but it seemed be an acknowledgement of all the 'Sheen-anigans' and now the ensemble cast was cleaning up and continuing on despite everything that had gone on so publicly.
I will just have to keep watching to see how this all plays out over the next few weeks.
