Love and Kisses
Dear Miss Ella:
I just want to tell you a little story. Before you were born, you were very comfortable. You did not want to come out to play. Your mommy's doctor decided, you needed her help to born. They had your Mommy and Daddy come to the hospital early on the morning of your birthday.
You were still comfortable so they decided there was medicine that would help you be born. They had your mommy hooked up to IV's and all sorts of monitors. There were monitors for your heartbeat and your Mommy's heartbeat and blood pressure. They monitored your Mommy's contractions.
Your Mommy had some very nice nurses who took very good care of her. Your Daddy was right there the entire time. He was so funny. Your Daddy was letting all the friends and family have updates on his social network pages. All day long people in faraway towns and states were anxiously awaiting your arrival.
Now, your G'pa and I were there too. Your G'pa had on his Husker pullover because he wanted you to know that you have Husker red in your blood because of your Nebraska roots. He also wore his Nike Air Pegasus shoes because he had to pace. I was there for moral support for everyone and because that is what G'ma's are supposed to do if they can. I was a little like your daddy in that I was giving updates far and wide plus I was texting quite a bit.
Your Mommy did very well. She made a new friend that day. He was an anesthesiologist. He was a nice medical doctor who gave your mommy nice medicine so she was more comfortable during your arrival.
The nice nurses were good about getting everything set up in your Mommy's room for your delivery. Now the only hitch was the weather. It took you all day to be born. The doctor had gone home after her clinic hours and had to come back to the hospital. By the time the nurses knew you were just about to arrive and had called the doctor, there was quite the snowstorm outside. This delayed the doctor by over half an hour. This meant those nice nurses had to tell your Mommy to wait and not push. This was very hard for your Mommy but she did very well.
Then, you were able to arrive. Some other nurses came by that time to take of you. At that time, your G'pa had to step out into the waiting area. This is when his Nike Air Pegasus shoes came in very handy because he paced back and forth. He was very worried because that what he was supposed to do.
You made your grand appearance and we were all very happy. Daddy and Mommy got to hold you and smooch you. I was able to get your G'pa. He checked you out but he had to make certain your Mommy was okay. He went over and hugged and hugged her. I took pictures because that is what I do. I called your Aunt K and gave her the stupendous news. Plus I had to text a picture. Your daddy also updated his social network. Your G'pa called your Great G'parents and Great- Uncle and Great - Aunt in Hometown USA so they knew you were born.
The doctor helped your Mommy some more and so did your nurses. After G'pa and I both took turns holding you, it was time for us to go back to your house. This way your Mommy and Daddy could have you all to themselves for your first night.
So, my darling, that is the story of your birthday for your mommy to put in your baby book. I am glad your Mommy and Daddy let us share the day.
Love and kisses forever more,
G'ma B
