Reality Bytes
Yes, the spelling was bit of trickery but hey - this is my blog. LOL
There is much ado about stupidity lately on the electronic airwaves due to the reality tv shows subjects and the fall out from the supposed failings of those in front of the camera. Ratings ploy??? Maybe I am being a bit cynical there. Hmmm. Nope - not going there in the way of commentary simply because what else can be said.
I like to watch some of the reality shows. I love to watch Dog the Bounty Hunter. The Chapmans just crack me up. I know they have a dangerous job and they aren't really dealing with society's best and brightest. But actually - I don't think they ever forget they are dealing with the frailty of human beings and the insidious evil of addictions on a daily basis. I would think they would have some dang good stories at tell at a barbeque. You also have to love a woman that can work in those nails.
Another favorite is Deadliest Catch. Those fisherman have insane jobs. They work in terrible weather conditions in a very harsh sea. Those salt water cowboys are crazy. I have no clue why I enjoy this show. I don't fish. I have never been on any type of big boat. I am not a water sport fan so what is the attraction to this? Beats the heck out of me but I get banished to the "other TV" if I want to watch.
I also enjoy watching Gene Simmons Family Jewels. Not a KISS fan at all. Seriously, never bought a record or CD of the band but I enjoy watching this show. Gene is always trying to make more money, like the guy needs to work another day in his life. He can just say something and make money. He was on with Hoda and Kathie Lee this morning and said he donated a kidney stone to an auction recently and raised big bucks for charity. He does have a softer side and you can tell he really does enjoy his family. He lives in a reality that rock 'n' roll built. Most of us can just observe from the comfort of our humble little shacks.
I also like to watch the cake shows. These are the ones that have the bakers and frosting artists that make edible masterpieces. Their artistry and attention to detail amazes me. They can re-create just about anything. Funny thing is, I can't recall a price being mentioned about these cakes or I just miss that detail but I would imagine these creations are pricey, pricey, pricey. But good gravy they are fancy smancey.
The reality of life is - this electronic byte has to close. My reality - work - beckons me. Happy reality all. LOL
