Text Messaging
I am old school. While I have entered the world of text messaging, I still have the terrible tendency to SPELL out words. I suppose it might be those years of having grammar and punctuation drilled into my head. Could be the time spent diagramming sentences (Okay, I will admit - I liked doing that.) Could be I remember the time it took to type out papers in college BEFORE computers were a dime a dozen and you had the backspace and delete keys.
I figure I should get my money's worth while sending messages. However I was informed that I am wasting my time and effort by spelling things out. Yes, I know it takes me twice as long to reply to messages or even send them. But again it is a comfort level thing with me.
Admittedly I am using abbreviations more. I will do the TTYL (talk to you later). I also do the LOL (laugh out loud) because I am relatively certain most of those whom I text will get what I mean.
I will even do the smiley face thing. :) But if I am answering or asking something... I will most likely spell things out. When they start to charge by the letter and not the message - I might reconsider. LOL...:)
