Presidential advisors
My question of the week - who are the people BEHIND the presidential candidates? What will make these people qualified/dignified enough to help their candidate guide our country during the next four to eight years?
Now, I am not necessarily talking about family members but it is good to know that too. Most of us realize spouses and other close family members will have tremendous influence.
Here is my reasoning for this question. No one person can run this country. The person elected has to have people around them that will be making decisions that will affect all of us.
Hillary says she will be ready on day one. (Ready for??) Barack says he is the person to change Washington. (Good luck with THAT concept.) John is saying he has the experience.(Okay???) Mitt - well - still haven't figured out what he is saying. Mike ????
But I really wonder who are the folks that have the ear and confidence of these potential presidents? Do any of those folks have the experience of having to live pay check to paycheck or better yet have they tried to survive on minimum wage? (It really should be called starvation wage.) Have they had the experience of just trying to keep their head above water so as not to drown and not seeing any light at the end of the financial tunnel.
Remember I am not talking about the candidates - I am asking about the people who are in the back rooms of the candidates putting together the political strategies and messages we will be inundated with in the coming months. The people who will be appointed to key administration positions AFTER the election.
Give me a presidential candidate that surrounds themselves with people who have lived like the rest of us. Show me a candidate who has people working for them that have common sense, honesty and integrity. You know the ones that have common sense enough to get out of the rainstorm because they know a rainstorm when they see it. The ones who are honest enough to say - this is what our plan is but in reality we have to work with the 400+ members of the House of Representatives and the 100 members of the Senate to work out the best compromise based on the experience and influence of the Washington power brokers.
The candidates need to let us know who the top people on their teams are going to be. And my guess would be that some of your want to know too. I am just the one mouthy enough to ask the question of the week.
