Paving Highway of Life
Paving Highway of Life

Mortal life, is more than a ‘highway,’
At first, mostly, ‘unplanned or seen,’
Looking Forward, to every Byway,
As a Route to a Different ‘Scene.’
Experience comes as ‘why not, or What if,’
As we stumble along on ‘Life’s-Highway,’
Often the ‘Pot-holes,’ seem like a Cliff,’
To, Proceed, beyond, needs a ‘Byway.’
In, Frustration, and Anger, Choices declare,
‘Change a Flat Tire, or Cautiously Drive,’
Or, New Route to take, might get you there,
Rejecting the options, that ‘Keeps you Alive.’
Time after time, just call it, ‘Maturation,’
To recognize a ‘bad road,’ going ‘Nowhere,’
And, Voila, a gravel road, to new destination,
with, scenery, not so nice, but no Consternation.
You take that road, of stone, and of Dust,
Only to find, yourself, back on old Highway,
From that opportunity, that ‘Ended up a Bust,’
Some folk, do this, to a Rotten Elder-Day.
When God isn’t there, Life can be a ‘Pity-Party,’
But, when He is there, you gain from His ‘Road-Map,’
Where the Pot Holes, are used, to Pave ‘Spirit-Hearty,’
And, ‘Coming up Roses,’ through each ‘Satanic Trap.’
Onward, and Upward, the Life-Focus ‘Needs-be,’
As, we learn from the ‘Pot-Holes,’ how to Drive,
Avoiding, and Paving, the Life that’s ahead, Free,
as ‘Redeemed,’ Home in Heaven, to God you’ll Arrive.
AMEN
