Chance to Evangelize
Chance to Evangelize
By Arley Steinhour 032618
I met a young lady at the Mall,
With a sign, asking for Help on her way,
As I drove by, engine threatened to stall,
Perhaps, Spirit signal, to not drive away.
I circled my wagon, around parking Lot,
To, return to her place by the driveway,
Engine ran-good, when I stopped at her spot,
To give, half my pocket cash, to the ‘Stray.’
Her reception was thankful, and friendly,
And, perhaps, a Chance to Evangelize,
As she received my pittance, quite Warmly;
She is headed for Denver, to my surprise.
With, no funds to speak of, and without work,
Denver, still ‘colder,’ might not work well,
But her banter, optimistic, as ‘cleaner, or clerk,’
She’d fallen on hard-times, for a spell.
Her comment about living to a-Hundred-Twenty-Five,
Prompted my reply, that ‘she’d never reach at age,’
And, my query, of being ‘Reborn,’ said, ‘She’d not arrive,’
With profession, ‘I’m honest and clean, and I’ll Survive.’
Quickly, I told her, ‘Rebirth, isn’t for First-Death,
But, a ‘Covenant from Second-Death,’ God’s Certificate,’
By then, behind me two drivers, with Bated-breath,
That, I drive away, so hopefully, they too might Donate.
I don’t know her name, nor ‘Eternal Destination,’
But, I gave it a try, with Christian proclamation.
Should you be in doubt, about being Reborn,
Being Reborn, ‘Shows the Way, “to be Sin-Shorn.”’
(the kind that doesn’t grow back)
AMEN
