Troth of Redemption
Troth of Redemption
By Arley Steinhour 020818
Mile upon Mile of Gray-Blue Sky,
Nestled in, on a Blanket of White,
Sun, softly Glowing, a Beautiful Sight,
As if, at Sea, a Nautical Delight.
The rolling tundra, like Swelling Sea,
A ‘Negative-Softness,’ of Royal Blue,
‘Free Reign,’ as far as the Eye can See,
Flying Fish, soar aboard, as ‘Grunion Stew.’
I went to the Doctor, ‘knee-pain,’ unto tears,
Tears flow more easily, now I’m ‘up in years,’
‘Travail,’ came to mind, explaining my fears,
‘Cortisone’ injected, pain reduced, Sight Clears.
I Praise my God/Jesus, ‘Knees Worn but Functional,’
What-ever caused the problem, may stay a Mystery,
Over many years, body proves its more Destructible,
And, in need of more Rest, than ‘Jockish History.’
Some, Aging lessons, learn harder than most,
Often, a Ponder, until Body gives-up Ghost,
Injury Reminders, a good teacher, of Cost,
Lessons, learned well, are like Winter’s Sweet Frost.
With ‘Body that’s Mortal,’ and ‘Eternal, the Soul,’
I turn to God’s Word, that ‘We May Die Twice,’
Deigned ‘Once to Die,’ with ‘Immortality the Goal,’
Second Death not meted, if First Death does Suffice.
Surrender First Life, to God/Jesus, our King, and Mate,
‘Accept his Troth of Redemption, Paid on the Cross,’
(Refusers, suffer Second Death, at Judgment; ‘Too-Late’),
‘Baptism, replaces Second Death, Negating All Loss.’
AMEN
