Seeking Safe Port
Seeking Safe Port
By Arley Steinhour 020617
Dear Lord, my God,
Forgo your Wrath,
So, others can plod,
And follow your Path.
Some, hearts are tender,
Some, very strong,
Some are Pretender,
Some, sing, along.
Your, Word, holds the secret,
That, tells us we can fly,
In, all we are, as an Eaglet,
That must learn to fly, or Die.
We have the time in Mortality,
However long, or short,
To choose, our own Eternity,
Like a ship, 'Seeking Safe Port.'
You won't presume, to tell us how,
You wait, or us to choose, life Compiled
If, we want Eternity, behind your Plow,
Else, the Torment from living quite Wild.
So many, it seems, will Turn Away,
Not seeing, How Bitterness Ends,
Pretending, they have nothing to say,
Till, they're Old, and wearing, 'Depends.'
But, they be wrong, not knowing our Times,
Of our 'Departure, to Bema Judgment,'
Refusing to believe, they've done Crimes,
'Committed, Forgotten, until Confinement.'
Lost Souls, who think, 'there's Plenty of Time'
Until, they need to avoid your Judgment,
May not know, they may be 'Guilty of Crime,'
In, 'Not Choosing You,' to, 'Await Confinement.'
AMEN
